Advertisement

For my advertisement I came up with doing something like a tanning lotion. I think it would work well because a lot of people like to be tan. I would advertise it maybe in an ad in a magazine or something. I would have a really tan person in the ad selling it so people think it works really good and buy the product. It would most likely make the product sell better if a tan person were in the ad instead of a pale person

Experience with research writing

I have had to do many research papers in high school. I hated every single one. I hate doing them, i hate researching topics that aren't interesting and I hate how long they have to be. I never really get a good grade because I hate them so much. Most of teachers made us present them in front of the class, which I hated even more. I have never really had a good experience with research papers, so hopefully I will this time if and when we do one.

What Diversity/Multiculturalism means

To me diversity and multiculturalism mean many different races or ethnic backgrounds. A diverse group of people where everyone is different. But, after researching this topic and reading Demystifying Multiculturalism, I found that diversity meant a range of different things, many different kinds or types of people, human qualities that different from our own and the groups to which we belong, and multiculturalism meant the appreciation or promotion of multiple cultures or cultural awareness. My initial answer I think was close, but not to the degree of the answer I found after researching the topic. I think in Chavez's essay she is trying to say multiculturalism is just something the government came up with so that people of different nationalities didn't feel like they were being treated differently than Americans, and that it didn't really help the different cultural groups or the country at all.

Blog entry #2 Peer Review

The peer review was okay. It was a little uncomfortable at first, because we didn't really know the person who's paper we were reading. After we got through the first paper though, it wasn't as weird. I think it really helped with the process of writing the paper because you got feedback on what you were writing, so you could improve on it. I think it was a good idea.

blog entry # 1 'Why My Mother Can't Speak English' #4

     One specific skill I cannot learn is how to shoot a hockey puck. Some reasons why I cannot learn this skill are that I don't know how to hold the hockey stick correctly to get a good shot. I also do not have enough power in my shot to even make the puck go anywhere near the net. Like how in the story Engkent's mother can't learn english, so she doesn't know whats going on when people are having a conversation in front of her, or are trying to tell her something in English when all she speaks is Chinese. That's how i feel when someone tries to tell me how to play hockey. I don't understand it. It's like a different language.
